Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a special question please email or call the brewery, our contact info is at the bottom of the page.
Do you serve food?
Our skills in the kitchen at home could use some work so please feel free to bring food in. If you’d rather have something made for you we often have food trucks parked outside or have menus of local places that are happy to deliver.
Do you have table service or should I order at the bar?
Our beers are all handcrafted at the brewery and because of this we’d like to offer you our best service so please order at the bar. This gives you and us an opportunity to ask questions and find a tasty beverage for you. With this, we also ask that when your done to please bring your empty glasses back to the bar.
My group was leaving and I forgot to close out my tab what should I do?
The way our system works is we run your card and then give it back to you so we’ll close out all open tabs at the end of the night. We do add 20% gratuity to all tabs left open.
Can I bring in my own hard alcohol, wine coolers, “real” beer or other beverages into the taproom?
We don’t allow outside beverages of any kind unless it’s a bottle of wine or clearly water. If you’d like to bring in a bottle(s) of wine please bring them to the register so we can mark them as there is a $10 corkage fee per bottle. We feel uncomfortable asking and we’re sure you do also so please don’t make us ask you to remove outside beverages.
So I have Celiac and need to be Gluten Free, what options do you have for me?
Unfortunately we don’t make any Gluten Free beers. But we do have hard cider, house made root beer and a selection of canned sodas or juice boxes if you like them.
Are kids or adults under 21 allowed in the taproom?
Yes, kids and anyone under 21 are welcome with a parent or legal guardian. We have several non-alcoholic options available.
Are pets allowed in the taproom?
No, now don’t get us wrong we love animals but we’re just following the law of the land and Iowa doesn’t allow pets inside eating/ drinking establishments. The only exception to this is if it’s an official service animal.
Do you fill growlers?
We sure do as long as you bring them in clean, whether there ours or someone else’s. If you’d like one of ours we have them for sale in the taproom. We have caps for the 64 oz. sizes but if you’ve got a 32 oz. “Boston Round” you’ll need to bring a clean cap. Growlers are for off-site consumption only, please take them home to enjoy!
I really like your beer, can I buy a keg?
Even if you beg the majority of time the answer will be no. We don’t make that much beer and keeping our taps full is a priority for us. Secondly we don’t trust you to return our kegs, well not really but we don’t have many and need them at the brewery.
So you drove and need a place to park?
We have a nice size parking lot on the north side of the brewery and it’s FREE! If that fills up Burnett Avenue has parking on both sides of the street.
Do you offer free Wi-Fi?
We do have free Wi-Fi and the password is on our menu board. If your having too much fun looking over the beers just ask our staff for the login info.
Is the taproom handicap accessible?
Our taproom and restrooms are handicap accessible. If you need anything during your visit please just ask and well do our best to accommodate you.
I’m coming in with a group and would like to reserve a table(s)?
Is your group 20 people or more, if not most of the time you’ll find the space you need. If you are a larger group please email us at email@example.com to let us know the day and time you expect to arrive and we’ll do our best. We wont hold a reserved table for more than 30 minutes past the time you promised so please keep your promises.
I have a wedding rehearsal dinner, class reunion, large birthday party, corporate event or something else I’d like to rent the whole taproom for and I’d like it closed to the public, how do I do that?
So you want it all and all to yourself do you? Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can walk you through the options and details for events like this.
I have a small group I’d like an awesome private space for do you have anything?
We sure do it’s called our barrel room and it seats around 12 adults. Please email us at email@example.com and we can walk you through how to rent this space.
Can I get a tour of the brewery?
The best way to get a tour is catch one of us in the back and if were not. Otherwise if you have a large group, event or a class (HRI 383) and would like a tour email us and well do our best to schedule one with you because we’re proud of what we do and would love to share that with you. Tours last about 30 minutes depending on how many questions you ask and how much fun you make it.
I’ve got a party bus scheduled and we’re going to stop by the brewery?
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org a few days ahead of time so we know your coming. Please park on Burnett avenue as the lot can get hard for large buses to get out of. If you make us one of your first few stops that would make you awesome!
I’ve got an event, fundraiser or something else going on do you make donations?
We do not donate kegs of beer but we sure do donate anything else we can to help give back to our community. Email us at email@example.com and well review your request and determine if we can help out or not. Please give us 30 days notice before you need our donation.
Hey, I’ve been in the taproom and I want to work there what should I do?
Honestly just send your resume to us via email as our desk is messy enough and we’d like to save paper. If we need someone and think you’d fit we’ll contact you. We normally post up on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter when we’re looking for some help, so make sure your following us.
Do you have any branded brewery stuff I can buy?
Yeah we’ve got gear you can wear, drink out of, stick on yourself and buy so others can drink. Stop in the taproom and check our stuff out and enjoy a beer!
